Inventory Software for a High-Volume Jewelry House

PeJay Creations case study - Inventory Software for a High-Volume Jewelry House | Jewelry / Retail Ops MVP Development

PeJay Creations has been designing jewelry since 1950, running the business on a ColdFusion system that had long outgrown it. We built the replacement backend: a product and inventory platform that handles thousands of pieces, scans and prints labels, keeps the storefront in step, and gives staff a place to work that does not require knowing where the bodies are buried in the old code.

  • Inventory backend for thousands of pieces — continuous scrolling instead of paging, stacked filters on location, status and date range, saved searches, and bulk moves
  • Barcode scanning from a phone camera, no dedicated hardware, with offline capture that syncs once the connection is back
  • Label printing built as a queue: tag pieces as you work through them, then print the batch in one pass
  • Product management with bulk edits, one-click duplication, drag-and-drop image ordering, and an audit trail of who changed what
  • Migration off the legacy ColdFusion and MySQL stack onto PostgreSQL and S3, with dry-run tooling so each pass could be checked before it was trusted
  • Product sync to the storefront, a quote-request flow in place of checkout, and retailer-only pricing
  • Jest unit tests and Playwright end-to-end coverage running against a Dockerized stack
