Steadily privacy policy

Effective: October 17, 2026

Steadily is an app made by haynes lab LLC ("we"). This page explains what the app does with your information. Your private diary is stored on your phone, encrypted. haynes lab never receives your readings. You can choose to export files or connect a Health service, as explained below.

What the app stores, and where

Steadily stores your private diary in an encrypted database inside the app's private storage. The encryption key is kept in your phone's secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android).

  • Readings: top and bottom numbers, pulse, date and time, arm, site, position, tags and notes.
  • Profiles: the name you give each profile (for example "Me" or "Mum").
  • Reminders (if you set any): the times you chose.
  • Settings: guideline choice, text size, theme and similar preferences (kept in the app's settings storage).

What leaves your device

Only what you choose to send.

  • Steadily makes no network connections of its own. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting in this version.
  • Exports: a doctor report (PDF), a spreadsheet (CSV) or a backup file go wherever you send them through the share sheet. PDF and CSV files are not encrypted, so treat them like any paper record. The backup file is encrypted with a passphrase you choose; we cannot open it and cannot recover a lost passphrase.
  • Health sync is optional. If you enable it, Steadily can read blood pressure and heart rate from Apple Health or Health Connect and write readings you type for the profile you link. Entries written to Health are stored outside Steadily's private database. You control Health permissions and the health service's storage and sync settings. haynes lab does not receive these entries. They are not used for advertising.
  • Support email: if you tap Contact support, your own mail app opens with your phone model, system version and app version filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send that email.
  • Links: the privacy policy, terms and the guideline sources (doi.org, heart.org) open in a browser view and load from those websites like any other visit.
  • Device backups: Steadily's private readings database is excluded from device cloud backups and automatic transfer. Exported files and entries you choose to write to Apple Health or Health Connect are separate copies managed through their destination. To move the private diary, restore a Steadily backup file on your new phone.

We never sell, share or receive your health data.

Permissions

  • Notifications (only if you create a reminder): to remind you to take a reading. You can hide profile names in reminder notifications in More.
  • Apple Health / Health Connect (optional): to read and write blood pressure and heart rate for the profile you link. Access is requested after an explanation when you enable Health sync in More. On Android, you can also enable access to history older than 30 days. Other diary features work without Health access.
  • Steadily does not use your camera, microphone, location or contacts. It cannot measure blood pressure.

How to delete your data

  • Delete a reading: open it in History and choose Delete.
  • Delete everything: More > Delete all data. This erases every reading, profile and setting on the phone.
  • Uninstalling the app also deletes all of its data from the phone.
  • Steadily attempts to remove its corresponding Health entries when you delete synced readings. Delete all data offers a separate option to remove entries it wrote to Health. Health permissions or service errors can prevent removal, so you can also manage those entries in Apple Health or Health Connect.
  • Exported files and Health entries are separate copies. Manage them at their destination; uninstalling Steadily removes its private diary, not copies held elsewhere.

Not medical advice

Steadily is a diary. It is not a medical device and does not measure blood pressure or diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.

Children

Steadily is meant for adults and is not directed at children.
