The engagement ended after the audio system shipped, and the remaining milestones were never commissioned. What exists is complete and tested — the app runs on both platforms with the full audio engine behind it. Rather than leave it on a shelf, we are open to selling the codebase outright to someone who wants to finish and launch it.

01The Challenge

Sleep Arise is a premium alarm clock built around an audio system rather than a ringtone: sleep aid, pre-wake ambience, spoken affirmations and the alarm itself, all scheduled backwards from the time you want to be awake. We built the app and the audio engine underneath it on Flutter for iOS and Android.

02What We Did

Flutter app for iOS and Android — alarm list and settings, sound and affirmation library, sleep analysis, dream journal, profile
The "audio puzzle": four configurable blocks scheduled backwards from the wake time — sleep aid, pre-wake ambience at T‑50, affirmations at T‑10, alarm at T — queued so only one session ever plays
Background execution done properly on both platforms: a long-running iOS audio session with the required background modes, an Android foreground service, and local notification fallbacks for the rare interruption
Volume ramping, crossfades between blocks, and interruption handling so a phone call does not silently kill the alarm
Audio streamed from Firebase Storage, with Firebase handling authentication and persistence
421 automated tests passing, with builds verified on both iOS and Android
