Datum privacy policy

Effective: October 16, 2026

Datum is an app made by haynes lab LLC ("we"). This page explains what the app does with your information. The short version: Datum does not collect anything. What you type stays on your device.

What the app stores, and where

Everything below is stored only on your phone or tablet, inside the app's private storage:

  • Saved cases: the label you give each case (a code like "JD-3"; the app asks you not to use names), the birth date, the gestational age at birth if you entered one, and each test date with its optional tag.
  • Copy templates you create.
  • Settings: date order, calculation method, rounding rule, correction cutoff, default copy format, theme, haptics, auto-delete period.
  • The calculation you were typing, so it is still there if the app is closed.
  • The paper tape (results you copied this session) is kept in memory only and is cleared when the app closes.

Ages are never stored. They are worked out from the dates each time you look.

What leaves your device

Nothing, unless you send it yourself.

  • Datum makes no network connections. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting in this version.
  • When you export cases (CSV or JSON) or copy a result, the data goes where you choose (the clipboard, a file, another app). After that it is handled by whatever you sent it to.
  • If you open the privacy policy, terms or support page from inside the app, that web page loads from our website in a browser view, the same as visiting it in your browser.
  • Your device's own backup (iCloud or Google backup), if you have it turned on, may include the app's data. That backup is controlled by Apple or Google and your device settings, not by us.

We never sell, share or receive your data, because we never have it.

Permissions

Datum asks for no permissions. It does not use your location, contacts, camera, photos, microphone or health data. Importing a backup uses the system file picker, which only gives the app the one file you choose.

How to delete your data

  • Delete one case: open it and choose Delete.
  • Delete everything: Settings > Delete all cases.
  • Delete old cases automatically: Settings > Auto-delete cases (30, 90 or 365 days).
  • Uninstalling the app deletes all of its data from the device.

Children

Datum is a tool for professionals and is not directed at children. It does not collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If a future version changes what is described here (for example, adds optional crash reporting), we will update this page and its effective date before that version is released.
